John Williams, Harry Potter composer, honored at classical music Brit Awards

The man who composed such classics as Hedwig’s Theme and the soundtrack to Star Wars is to be awarded at a prestigious ceremony. The Telegraph says,

Composer John Williams, whose scores have soundtracked Harry Potter and Star Wars films, will be given a lifetime achievement award at this year’s Classic Brit Awards.

Williams, 80, will be given the classical music award in October of this year at the annual awards ceremony.

A five-time Oscar winner, Williams has contributed to the film scores of Jaws, Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, Superman and Raiders Of The Lost Ark, and has frequently worked with director and producer Steven Spielberg.

  1. There WAS the Jurassic Park theme song… but I loved the Harry Potter one, I can play it on the flute and piano.
