If you love Harry Potter and don’t mind having it being spoofed, well, you will certainly like this, especially if you live in the Chicago area.
It has been revealed that the spoof “Potted Potter: The Unauthorized Harry Experience — A Parody by Dan and Jeff” will begin a run in the Off Broadway venue Little Shubert Theater that will go from May to mid-August of this year.
The show’s two writer-performers, Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner, offer a comically condensed version of all seven Harry Potter novels in 70 minutes. Production, which has played multiple stints as part of the Edinburgh Fringe festival, has met with strong reviews and robust sales in its prior outings, including the London engagement that recently netted the production an Olivier nom.
Off Broadway run will mark the show’s American preem. “Potted Potter” begins previews at the Little Shubert May 19 ahead of a June 3 opening.
So, who in the Chicago area is going? If you go, please let us know. We would love to get your opinion on it!
